Every year Atsuta Shrine, Japan’s second most revered Shinto shrine after the Great Shrine of Ise, with over 2,000 years of history hosts over 60 Martial Arts events and displays, ranging from traditional samurai swordsmanship, archery, spear, naginata, jujutsu, aikido and samurai equestrian arts. On average, two to three demonstrations or tournaments are staged monthly, with most open to the public. Atsuta also has one of the largest collections of samurai swords and weapons.
