One of Japan's most iconic, and most easily recognised family crests is the Tokugawa clan crest of three inward pointing, circularly enclosed hollyhock leaves, the Aoi-no-Go-mon crest. The crest is commonly identified as hollyhock, but in fact the aoi actually translates to wild ginger.
