Deputy Shogun Hosokawa Ujitsuna

(1514- January 4, 1564)

Hosokawa Ujitsuna was a military commander of the early Sengoku, Warring States period, the 35th and final Deputy Shogun of the Muromachi Bakufu (feudal government). He was the natural son of Hosokawa Tadakata, the foster son of Hosokawa Takakuni, end the elder brother of Hosokawa Fujikata, all major players in the Muromachi Government and the political machinations of the day.  He was also the 18th head of the Hosokawa Keicho family.
