Samurai, Statesman and anti Tokugawa activist, Kido Takayoshi was born on this day, August 11, 1833

One of the most influential activists, Kido Takayoshi was involved with many of the incidences and action that defined the late Edo era / bakumatsu period in which Japan saw the collapse of the Shogunate, the end of feudalism and a new era dawn as the Emperor Meiji took control of the nation.
