Onmitsu Kenshi (隠密剣士, The Spy Swordsman) was a 1962 Japanese TV series shown on TBS-TV until 1965. 128 episodes of the original series were filmed, and two black-and-white feature films were made in 1964 featuring the stars of the TV series. After its initial showings, in 1965 a new lead was cast, and 39 episodes of “The New Samurai” ('新隠密剣士, Shin Onmitsu Kenshi) were produced before the series was canceled. Another series, in color, was filmed in 1973, but only lasted for 26 episodes.
