Sassa Narimasa Committed Seppuku On This Day, July 7, 1588. As he committed seppuku, he showed his displeasure at the Toyotomi administration in a most alarming way!

Sassa Narimasa was born in Hira Castle, the grounds of which are now the Koutsu-ji Temple, in Nishi-Ku, Nagoya City on February 6, 1536. In 1550, following his genpuku coming of age ceremony, the 14-year-old Narimasa followed his father, Sassa Morimasa, in becoming a retainer of Oda Nobunaga.
