The 14th Tokugawa Shogun, Iemochi reigned for just eight years from 1858 until his death on August 29, 1866. Because of his youth and the times of his reign, Iemochi has never really received the recognition or appreciation deserved, however, Iemochi appears to have been a young man many years ahead of his times.
