The daimyo of Mino Aono Domain, Inaba Masayasu was cut down and killed for assassinating his cousin, the Tairo, Hotta Masatoshi in Edo Castle on October 7, 1684.

Inaba Masayasu was a hatamoto, a bannerman to the Tokugawa clan in the Edo period, born the eldest son and heir to the lord of Mino Aono domain, hatamoto Inaba Masakichi. The Tokugawa clan Tairo, or Great Elder, a position akin to the modern day Prime Minister and head of the roju (chief advisor) council, Hotta Masatoshi was his second cousin.
