Warlord Takeda Shingen (December 1, 1521 – May 13, 1573), the Tiger of Kai, was famous for his tactical genius,  for his development and use of the cavalry charge, and his many  military, economic, social legal, and public works innovations. His battle tactics were so effective and so frightening, few would dare face Shingen in battle. Uesugi Kenshi did, and often too!
