The Kagiya No Tsuji Incident is remembered as one of the greatest sword fights and vendettas of the Edo period, and took place on December 26, 1634, at Otamachi, about 400m west of Iga Ueno Castle in modern day Mie Prefecture.

The Three Great Vendettas of Japanese history are the Chushingura incident (The 47 Ronin Story) of 1703,the Soga Brothers Incident of 1193, and the Kagiya no Tsuji Incident.
