The Heian period Warrior and Statesman, Minamoto no Mitsunaka was born on this day, April 29, 912.

Mitsunaka was born the son of the warrior and Imperial Prince, Minamoto no Tsunetomo. As such, Mitsunaka was the Great Grandson of Emperor Seiwa, and the second head of the Seiwa Genji branch of the noble Minamoto clan. As the founder of the Tada Genji clan, he is also known as Tada Mitsunaka.
